May 21, 2004Have any Envoy, Trailblazer, or Bravada owners experienced excessive failure of their brake light socket boards? I have had my 2002 Envoy for a year and a half and one of my brake lights has gone out for the 3rd time. I have to check my records to see if it's the same one but each of the previous times the cause has been a corroded socket board. I believe (in the Envoy at least) it is a design flaw because there is a gap between the top of the lens and the body panel and there is also an opening allowing water to run behind the lens and presumably in contact with the bulb. I think think this is a design flaw because the bulb probably heats the moisture to create a humid environment conducive to corrosion.
Really in my opinion, the whole back end leaks. I notice ongoing condensation in the 3rd light bar and every time I get a car wash I notice water drops or spots on the inside of the tailgate glass!
Also, has anyone had any problems with their front wipers in rain sensing mode?
