i had parts of my car which are plastc, steel, powdercoated and painted to match, especially my lower valence, bumper cap, bowtie, mirrors, and drove to many places such as the mountains, Frisco, vegas in all types of weather and the only sign of chipping is on the lower valence due to rocks and other debris but other than that the paint is still as perfect as possible. i believe its all how its prepped and painted. On these types of situations, you get what you pay for...be prepared to pay the price for each item you wish to have sanded down to extreme smoothness and prepped to perfection.
3m offers clear bra's which arent a bad idea if you're questioning the paint job, i personally would only use it on my lower valence to prevent it from being painted over and over in the future, but for now everythings fine
as far as powdercoating, i cant give you much of an opinion...email me for shops and people that can do your car up.
