March 9, 2005Is there a way to roll the back windows all the way down on my 2004 Tahoe? It only goes half-way down.

March 9, 2005Nope... Not in the regular length Tahoe or Yukon. It's because of the cutout for the rear wheel well. In my opinion, they should have used windows like in some other vehicles that are two piece, so the window can roll all the way down.
March 9, 2005Greg,
I always thought it was a child safety issue like in most cars, but now that I think about it, I guess that makes sense.
March 11, 2005Pat--just having a little good-natured ribbing at your expense (IOW--please don't take any of the following as criticism towards you or as insulting your intelligence), but...if that were the reason, why isn't that the case with the Suburban and Yukon XL rear door windows? Oh, that's right--you don't have a long bus... Besides, a window-button lockout feature--like that found on our GM trucks/SUVs, among many other vehicles--helps go a long way towards preventing children (or adults who have as much sense as children ) from rolling down rear door windows--either part way or all the way down. Alternately, you could crack the rear windows to a desired opening using the driver door-panel buttons, then enable the window lockout button...thus effectively preventing anyone other than the driver from adjusting the window.
But back to the focus of the topic at hand--although I like the look of the short bus, that (rear window roll-down) was one of the reasons I didn't buy a short bus Denali instead...having a window that can't roll all the way down--no matter what the reason--is just too annoying for me.
April 7, 2005what about a 95 tahoe, same reason, or can you change it?
April 7, 2005On just about any vehicle where the shape of the rear door accommodates the rear fender opening, you will have limited movement in the window. Just a fact of life, I'm afraid.
April 7, 2005You guys beat me too it. My windows go all the way down, But i have to tell you, I take it for granted
April 8, 2005Of course, if GM designed the second-row door windows in a two-piece design like on the Explorer...then there won't be any issues w/ windows rolling all the way down.
April 24, 2005would it be possible to get that two piece window installed on my tahoe?
